Please join me...

an excerpt from an email I sent to my friend...

I have decided rather than question.... question how Bethany "matches," rather than question the politics (if any,) and rather than question the time, I have decided to just continue to PRAY!  I am praying for so many things I almost feel guilty... so I am trying to remember for every 'needing' prayer, I offer a pray of Thanksgiving because the Lord has blessed me with so many AMAZING things in my life!  With that said... I am asking you to please pray with me for strength, faith, and honesty.  Strength that my family and I can continue the journey; wait with positivity and excitement rather than with frustrations.  Faith, praying that our faith continues to grow as we live for the unknown, and lastly, for the honesty of Bethany.  Pray with us that Bethany will use their best Christian judgements when reviewing the orphans and the families patiently await their 'call.'

I have asked her.....and now I ask all of you, please pray with us.  Praying is the only thing we can control at the moment~

My Daily Prayer until our 'call'

Lord, teach me to be patient - with life, with people,and with myself. I sometimes try to hurry things along too much, and I push for answers before the time is right. Teach me to trust Your sense of timing rather than my ownand to surrender my will to Your greater and wiser plan. Help me let life unfold slowly, like the small rosebud whose petals unravel bit by bit, and remind me that in hurrying the bloom along, I destroy the bud and much of the beauty therein.

Instead, let me wait for all to unfold in its own time. Each moment and state of growth contains a loveliness. Teach me to slow down enough to appreciate life and all it holds.

Amen.

Feast of St. Francis of Assisi

Prayer of St. Frances of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

Loving...

here are just a few things that have taken place over the past few days that I never want to forget...

Gigi may not have been the best soccer goalie during her first game, but she did have the best cheering section due to her brother!!
     Gigi had her first soccer game this week and hands down...she was the cutest little player.  She bounced back and forth in front of the goal, sometimes looking at the ball; most of the time looking at the sideline to see if her cheering section was watching.  How did she do?  Let's just say, she needs a little more, okay, A LOT more practice!!!
    Later that night, Ryan and Garyn were in the bathroom getting ready for bed when Garyn looked at Ryan and said, "Dad, (with a strained face) she is terrible, I mean really bad."  Ryan laughed and said "I know buddy, but we can't let her know that..."  With and obvious look, Garyn responded, " I know Dad, that's why I waited to tell you."
     I am proud of both of my kids!!!  Gigi never quit even though she knew she was letting the other team score OVER AND OVER, Garyn NEVER stopped cheering for her and her team, and even though she wasn't the best, Garyn never let her know exactly how bad their team really did!
LOVE IS HONEST, LOVE IS KIND!!!!!

Christian Attitudes, one proud Mama!
      Over the past few weeks we have been encouraging Garyn to say hello and include a new classmate while playing on the playground.  At first, he didn't understand why this was important so Ryan and I did our best to explain why it is important to try...  Over the past week, I have watched Garyn say Good Morning to the new classmate, occasionally include him in morning conversation, and yesterday when he came out of school he told me that he and another classmate played football with him.  He said he had fun...he was clearly proud of himself and so was I!!!!

     Yesterday when I was dropping Gigi off at school one of the teachers stopped me because she said she had a story about Gigi she wanted to share.  Of course knowing my little comedian, I immediately thought it would be about her and something funny she did...
The teacher told me that one of Gigi's classmates was crying and wouldn't stop (they were in line to go outside) so Gigi's got out of line, walked up to him and put her arm around him.  She gave him a hug and held his hand the whole way upstairs.  When they reached the top of the steps, he hugged her back and said "you made me better."
     When we asked Gigi about the act of kindness, she said ever so confident (shocker) "Well Mom, I am the ONLY one who can calm him down.  I just tell him that they (his parents) will always come back and he stops crying."

Well our conversations with Garyn must have paid off x2.  I am very proud of my kiddos and their Christian Attitudes while at school...

His 1st "real" 100% and positive attitude
     I am one proud Mama!!!!  Garyn earned his 1st 'real' 100% on his spelling test!!!  I can NOT say it enough...this school year has been such an easy start!!!  Thanks to Garyn and his positive attitude!!!  He gets up when told (never a fight!!!), he eats and has been walking to school every morning without ANY complaints, in fact, when I asked him this morning if he would rather drive, he said "no mom, I want my exercise!)  He does his homework without any fight and goes to bed without complaint!!!  He makes everything so easy.... (never thought I would be saying that...if any of you knew Garyn a year or two ago...)

Gigi's honesty
     I made Gigi a cake to celebrate her hard work at soccer.  I stayed up later than usual to make the cake and cupcakes so she could see them before she went to school.  When she woke up she was all smiles when she saw her surprise.  I lifted her up and she looked at both of the sweets.  She said, " Mom, the cake is awesome, but that one and that one and that one (pointing to the cupcakes) need work!
Thanks for the honesty!!!!

A Thousand Years...

My Timothy Green,

you are here again...

---

we are still praying for answers...

Are we one step closer?

My angel, my Timothy Green... what are you telling me?

---

We are searching high and low,

with help from here to Africa...

"Time has brought your heart to me...." but why??

---

searching, praying, crying, smiling, yearning, hoping, loving, aching...

---

little boy, I promise to not stop until we figure it out.

you may not be meant to be mine...

but I promise you, I can feel you in the deepest depths of my heart.

---

my heart is swollen with joy and sadness.

---

I love you...

and I know... I know with time...I will be forever indebted to you!

---

because of you, we are one step closer.

---

I have loved you for a thousand years, I love you for a thousand more...

My Bao Bao, My Timothy Green.

Forever-
me

My Song to you....it says everything!

Quiet

all i hear are the rain drops pelting on my roof,

it's quiet, too quiet.

there is an occasional siren or too,

gone and past.

...

he walked in experienced,
she walked in ready, yet with little to say

...

familiar faces, a few new,
new teachers, same love

...

their home away from home

...

leaving this home too quiet, too dull

...

is it 3:30 yet?

The kids are both officially in school!  Garyn started on August 21st... and he picked up right where he left off.  His new teacher, Ms. Scheidler is wonderful and is full of energy for this new year!  I can not wait to watch him mature and grow this year both socially and academically!  It's going to be a great year for him....I can already tell!

Gigi started today.  She is a beautiful "butterfly."  She walked in ready to go, Miss Peggy ready to scoop her up.  We watched her take in all of her new surroundings.  Nerves were sneeking out because she was biting her lip.  This is Gigi's 1st year going to school all day....she is ready, I am not!

It was so nice starting the school year in a familiar school with the same faces... it was like we were back "home."

CHEERS to a great 2012-13 school year!

Timothy Green

...

Smitten, excited, ready...

followed by...

disappointment, sadness, hurt...

then realized...

He was our Timothy Green!

Forever thankful...

Still patiently waiting!
