all i hear are the rain drops pelting on my roof,
it's quiet, too quiet.
there is an occasional siren or too,
gone and past.
...
he walked in experienced,
she walked in ready, yet with little to say
...
familiar faces, a few new,
new teachers, same love
...
their home away from home
...
leaving this home too quiet, too dull
...
is it 3:30 yet?
The kids are both officially in school! Garyn started on August 21st... and he picked up right where he left off. His new teacher, Ms. Scheidler is wonderful and is full of energy for this new year! I can not wait to watch him mature and grow this year both socially and academically! It's going to be a great year for him....I can already tell!
Gigi started today. She is a beautiful "butterfly." She walked in ready to go, Miss Peggy ready to scoop her up. We watched her take in all of her new surroundings. Nerves were sneeking out because she was biting her lip. This is Gigi's 1st year going to school all day....she is ready, I am not!
It was so nice starting the school year in a familiar school with the same faces... it was like we were back "home."
CHEERS to a great 2012-13 school year!

Timothy Green
...
Smitten, excited, ready...
followed by...
disappointment, sadness, hurt...
then realized...
He was our Timothy Green!
Forever thankful...
Still patiently waiting!

LIFE
sometimes in life....
you take a huge risk...
you feel amazing....
like you haven't felt, well..... maybe ever....
then you wake up one morning...
to feel like you are right back where you started...
yep...OUCH....
it stings...
it hurts...
a growing butterfly back slinking right back to it's cocoon
Random thought of today....

When the feeling hits...
it usually takes absolutely nothing to get the feeling...
today, i was just sitting alone for 3 minutes and the feeling hit me strong...
the feeling is this...
in 30 seconds I will review my life in a snapshot and realize how blessed I am...
then the longing for my Ethiopian babe will set in...
today, I quickly Thanked the Lord for all my blessings...
reminded myself His timing is working perfectly...
and as my 3 minutes of alone time ends... I think...
one amazing summer will lead us to one amazing Ethiopian Baby!

Home Sweet Home!!
The feeling of being home....there truly is nothing better!
My parents house is always perfectly clean and put together. The cabinets are always filled with our favorite foods, the fridge full of drinks and the kids candy bowl overspilling of sweets and treats.
The pool is clear and calm waiting for the kids to make their splash and the TV is full of all the movies and shows all ready to be enjoyed by EVERYONE...
The kid's beds have been transformed from dainty pink flowers to princesses and cars and Ryan and I have a bed that is perfectly tucked and neat!
I am so amazingly blessed to be a Mom and to take care of my babes....but I am even more blessed to be able to come home and have my Mom take care of me!!!
It is going to be such a fun few weeks here!!!
Family, Friends, Food and Fun!!!!
CHEERS!
I am truly living a blessed life!!!

Summer Lovin'
Summer Lovin' Having some fun!!
So...Garyn has heart disease...kinda REALLY sucks that he is 6 and will be dealing with this his ENTIRE life, but Thankfully the grace of God has his hand on his heart and for now, his cardiologist only wants to monitor the situation!!!! What a huge blessing a relief.
Garyn had an amazing time in Canada fishing! The stories are still slowly creeping out of him...I just love to listen to him relive the trip!! The stories are always followed with his beautifully contagious laugh...which is ALWAYS the best part of each story for me!
Gigi and I had an amazing time on vacation; TRULY spoiled yet again by my parents!!!! The weather was perfect, warm during the day, cool in the evening. Gianna was the best behaved little girl. She was a wonderful traveler, great beach buddy (she LOVED the waves,) and fun dinner partner. She was such a trooper the entire week...especially when she was plagued with Hand, Foot, Mouth which left her with TOO many canker sores in her mouth! She made friends, swam, and stayed up late watching TV in her bedroom at night before she fell to sleep each night!! It was a wonderfully relaxing trip!
It took ALL of us a few days to get back into our daily routines as a family once we returned, however, I must say...we have found our routine and the kids have been wonderful the past week!
Swimming, county fair, football, TKD, play dates with school friends, gymnastics, crafts, movies and science experiments are making our summer days fly by.... the kids haven't seem to go to bed before 10 the past week...I wish we had a few more hours in each day to treasure these awesome summer days and nights!
We are now getting ready for our summer trip to PA. I can not wait.... stay tuned for many fun stories over the next few weeks!! We are planning for a great fun filled stay!

Kawasaki Disease
The effects of the disease are creeping up on Garyn again...
Durning Garyn's 6 year old wellness visit, his pediatrician did not like the way his heart murmur sounded (it is something that has been with Garyn since his battle with Kawasaki's,) so they wanted him to see his cardiologist again for a check up.
Two weeks ago, he had an EKG, Echo, and a chest X-Ray (tests Garyn are all too familiar with.) I took Garyn thinking is was going to be a typical review and we would be out of there in an hour. I thought his cardiologist would say...."let's just keep monitoring his murmur."
Well, during his FOREVER long echo, I texted Ryan and told him I didn't like the way things were going...I had a mommy feeling, especially after the tech told me, "things will be okay, you have the best cardiologist around."
....
What we learned...
Garyn's echo came back abnormal. His aorta is showing signs of narrowing and Dr. Darragh is concerned not only about his aorta but also with his peripheral and carotid arteries.
In short, he believes Garyn's health scare in September is/ was correlated with his current concerns of Garyn's heart and arteries.
...
Today Garyn is having a Cardiac MRI to hopefully provide the pictures Dr. Darragh needs to decided Garyn's future medical needs. If this does not work, Garyn will need a heart catheterization.
...
My hope is that Garyn will need only need monitoring. My biggest fear is that we are told our next visit with be with a surgeon.
...
Please keep Garyn in your thoughts and prayers!!! He is an amazing and STRONG little boy!!
